Ex-Tampa Bay Bucs cheerleader Donna Allen kicked off 'The Voice'
Well, that was quick.
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader Donna Allen's time on The Voice came to an end last night, when she was beat in the battle rounds by Jamaican powerhouse Tessanne Chin. Allen got two judges to turn around in the blind auditions with her version of You Are So Beautiful.
The two singers from Team Adam performed Emeli Sandé's Next To Me, and boy, this was a brutal match-up from the start. Both singers are better than most of the other competitors, so pairing them up and having to eliminate one was always going to be a tough choice. (Their coach Adam Levine even told them he thought both could go on to win the competition.) But in the end, Adam chose Tessanne as the winner, and really, who can blame him?
It was surprising that none of the other coaches chose to steal the powerful, raspy-voiced Allen, who delivered a really strong performance last night. During the battle rounds, coaches are allowed a few steals to nab singers from other teams that lose the battle.
Tampa Bay fans still have one more chance to see one of our own continue in the competition, when Team Cee Lo's R. Anthony takes the stage tonight in a battle against Kat Robichaud. The Voice airs at 8 p.m. on NBC; join us on Twitter @TimesTVFeed then to talk about the episode!
