Doug Hughes, the Ruskin postal worker who landed his gyrocopter on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol on April 15, remains a topic of conversation — even if many folks have forgotten Hughes' reason for the stunt. (It was to draw attention to the need for campaign finance reform, Hughes said.)

On Tuesday night, Hughes, 61, and his flying machine were the subject of a segment on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The segment was titled "Wack Hawk Down.''

Stewart seemed stunned that this "Chitty Chitty Mailman,'' as he called Hughes, was able to evade high-tech security measures that guard the nation's capital. While showing a tourist's video of the gyrocopter coming in for a landing, Stewart said the craft was captured on "Hey-Dar'' — as in "Hey, look at that there.''

Hughes, who returned to his Florida home this past weekend, remains on house arrest a GPS ankle monitor until a hearing in Washington, D.C., on May 8.
