'Happy Endings' stars popping up on Fox shows
We mourn the cancelation of Happy Endings on a daily basis. (Seriously ABC, you got rid of our favorite comedy for this?) Which is why we're thrilled to report that two of its ah-mah-zing cast members are popping up on other shows this season.
First, Damon Wayans Jr. will reprise his role as Coach on New Girl. (He played the character in the pilot episode but had to back out because his other show, Happy Endings, got picked up for a second season.) Fox confirmed earlier this summer that he would be back on New Girl for at least four episodes in the show's current third season, and it looks like those episodes are coming up, because Zooey Deschanel posted the above photo on Instagram last week, with the caption "Look who's back on #newgirl!!! @wayansjr".
And starting last night, Adam Pally joined the cast of The Mindy Project as a series regular. He'll play a "frat boy OBGYN," another awesome character description for the very talented Pally, whose Happy Endings character Max has been described as a “lazy, slovenly gay man and a "lovable bum".
New Girl and The Mindy Project air back-to-back Tuesdays on Fox (9 and 9:30 p.m. respectively), so we're crossing our fingers Pally's fratty doctor will meet New Girl's Schmidt out at a club or Coach joins Chris Messina's character on Mindy for a pick-up basketball game. Work with us, Fox!
