High School Musical 4? Zac Efron, Disney Channel might be up for it (no, really)
Although I'm a former creepy member of the Ashley Tisdale Fan Club, I'm not entirely sure that bringing back the cast of Disney Channel's progenitive High School Musical franchise for a fourth go-round is the best/sanest/is-this-really-happening idea. First of all, isn't the actress who played East High's class prez something like 47 now? (Just joshing, Monique Coleman, wherever you are.) Also, haven't most of the admittedly talented cast gone out of their way to shed their Mouse House image, including Vanessa Hudgens who did VERY BAD THINGS in Spring Breakers?
Regardless, 26-year-old Zac "Troy Bolton" Efron, who's just now getting his drug-addled life back together after a whirlwind youth as a Disney kid (and after his turbulent puppy-love relationship with Hudgens!!!), told E! News that he'd be "100 percent" up for getting the gang back together. It's not off the table at Disney, either. "We're all thinking about it," said Efron, who could totally be doing this simply to get snuggly with Hudgens again. (Gossip! Gossip!) "I continue to see all the guys from High School. Every time we do...there's just this look between us." Could that "look" be desperation? Okay, okay, in all fairness, there might be an audience who's still curious how Troy and Gabriela turned out. After all, the soundtrack for the first film was the best-selling album of 2006. Plus more than 225 million viewers have reportedly watched the three HSM flicks, the third of which was released in theaters. Plus, with all the naughty things the cast has been up to, maybe High School Music 4: Fast Times at East High would be R-rated? First things first, let's get Ashley "Sharpay Evans" Tisdale signed up right away!
