Katy Perry & Kacey Musgraves to team up for CMT's 'Crossroads' on June 13
It's so charmingly odd -- like mismatched socks or cream soda -- it just might work: For the 50th episode of CMT's Crossroads (remember Taylor Swift and Def Leppard? Stevie Nicks and Lady Antebellum?), the strange-bedfellows concert show will pair cheeky wide-eyed pop princess Katy Perry with stoner-friendly singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves, whose 2013 LP Same Trailer Different Park won a Grammy for best country album. (Seriously, that record is just about perfect.) Premiering on June 13, the episode -- so big it will also air on VH1 and MTV -- will feature the stars swapping stories and songs and warbling together in weird, wonderful ways. We can totally see Kacey doing an acoustic cover of I Kissed a Girl; KP has already raved about KM's Merry Go 'Round. If you like what you see, Musgraves will also join Katy for part of her summer tour. Sadly, it won't be in time for Perry's gig at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on June 30. We get Capital Cities instead. Oh well, there's always Crossroads.
