Ken Bone memes prove who really won the second presidential debate

Ken Bone won the hearts of Twitter during the debate.

Ken Bone won the hearts of Twitter during the debate.

It's hard to say exactly why Ken Bone, some guy who asked the candidates a question during the second presidential debate, went viral.

Maybe it was his sensible query about energy policy during a debate that felt like it had strayed far, far away from "the issues." Maybe it was that snazzy red sweater. Maybe it's that, at least on the surface, Ken Bone, and his kind mustache, felt authentic on a night when everything else had to be fact-checked.

Either way, Bone is a bonafide star today, and it just keeps getting better.

Here's what we know about him:

He only wore the now-iconic red sweater because he'd ripped the seat of his pants earlier in the day, he told CNN. And, of course, he mentioned his mother.

He had seven Twitter followers, but two were his grandma.

Ken Bone uses a disposable camera.

Bill Clinton wanted to shake his hand.

People are tweeting really funny #KenBone memes.
