Kevin James will return to sitcoms in a potential 100-episode deal
Get ready to see a lot more of comedian Kevin James, because he's in the middle of getting a new sitcom into development. There's already so much of the guy to see, too.
James, who just signed a film and TV deal with Lionsgate, is going to star in and executive produce a new 10/90 sitcom, Deadline Hollywood reports exclusively. There is zilch in the way of details otherwise, including who will write it or what it's even about, but we already know James has his dumb sitcom chops down pat.
You know that 10/90 formula: A network orders 10 episodes, and if a ratings goal is met, the contract automatically signs the network up for 90 more episodes, just to make sure you get sick of it. You've seen this in the works via Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Charlie Sheen's Anger Management.
George Lopez is doing a similar deal for Saint George, and Kelsey Grammer and Martin lawrence just signed up to do one, too. They're both going to be on FX with Anger Management. Where will James' show end up? That depends on how well syndication company Debmar-Mercury negotiates.
