Kirsten Dunst to star in new AMC show set in '90s Central Florida
The Fargo star has landed her next TV role, this time as a theme park employee in 1990s Orlando.
The project — On Becoming a God in Central Florida — is to be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster) and produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov's Smokehouse Pictures, Sony's TriStar Television and AMC Studios.
Deadline originally reported Dunst signed on to star in the new series as Krystal Gill, a minimum-wage water park employee who is left with nothing after being widowed. She lies and cons her way up the ranks to seize control of the multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that destroyed her life.
On Becoming a God in Central Florida is billed as an hour-long, darkly comedic series premiering on the network that gave us Mad Men and Breaking Bad.
No word yet on a premiere date or if the show will shoot in the Sunshine State.
We can only hope.
