Matthew Perry is coming to USF in April
Chandler Bing is coming to USF!
The University of South Florida just announced that Matthew Perry will be the final speaker of its 2013-14 University Lecture Series at the Tampa campus. He's coming to the school's Marshall Student Center 8 p.m. April 8 to speak about addiction, particularly his personal battles with prescription drugs and alcohol. In addition to his acting career, Perry is also an advocate for changes in national drug policy.
The actor's attempts at getting back to network TV since Friends went off the air in 2004 (!) include 2011's Mr. Sunshine and 2012's Go On. He also stopped by former co-star Courteney Cox's TBS show Cougar Town last month.
The USF lectures are free and open to anyone, though you'll need to show up early for any chance of getting a seat, as USF students usually get preference. Typically, the guest speaks for a while then opens it up to questions from the audience. Taking guesses now as to how many will be about Perry's time on Friends, the role from which he will never ever escape. Wait, are college kids these days old enough to have treasured Friends in its prime? Oh god, probably not.
