Miley Cyrus takes over TV this weekend
Hope you're not sick of Miley Cyrus yet, because she's everywhere on TV this weekend. (Not a coincidence: Her new album Bangerz comes out Tuesday.)
First, she hosts Saturday Night Live tomorrow night. Here's what I wrote about that in my weekly TV picks:
We're going to come right out and say it: We like Miley Cyrus, who hosts SNL's second episode of the season Saturday. Her songs are great (Party in the USA, anyone?). She's honest. And, most importantly for this show, she's funny. A totally game SNL host in the past, Miley is definitely self-aware enough to poke fun at her recent twerk-tastic shenanigans. But she's also doubling as musical guest, and we're crossing our fingers for an emotionally charged (though hopefully fully clothed) rendition of her latest, Wrecking Ball.
At 8 p.m. Sunday, MTV is airing a "deluxe" 90-minute edition of her new documentary Miley: The Movement. It'll feature new footage and extended scenes -- and at least one giant Miley meltdown. Then, bright and early Monday morning, Miley will be on the Today show for an interview and live concert in Rockefeller Plaza. She'll sit down with Matt Lauer for what'll be her first live TV interview since that MTV VMA performance everyone talked about for days.
