Country ne'er-do-well Eric Church on 'CBS Sunday Morning' (+ our review of new LP 'The Outsiders')

So how much do I dig Eric Church, the rules-thwarting antidote to the frat-boy-ification of today's country music? Well, here's the lede to my review of his new album: "Eric Church has all the swagger and sex appeal of his country contemporaries, cliche-spewing frat faves such as Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan. The difference, however, is that the intense Tar Heel has 10 times the songwriting smarts, plus a confidence to step out of the limelight, not to mention his creative comfort zone, and take the time needed to write a genre-busting gem like new LP The Outsiders." Okay, yeah, so there's that gush. Plus I've seen the Drink in My Hand singer's very funny, very charming segment on last weekend's CBS Sunday Morning about 10 times now. Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke and watch along with me, cowboys and girls.
