Pottermore to publish ebook short stories on Harry Potter's wizarding world
Wizards and witches are less than three weeks away from more stories about the beloved wizarding world creating by J.K. Rowling.
Pottermore, the online headquarters for the Potterverse, debuts the Pottermore Presents series of ebooks on September 6. The series includes short stories and Rowling's reflections on the world she created.
The collection includes work originally published on the Pottermore site and new work, with each ebook being about 10,000 words long.
"Pottermore Presents is intended to supplement the Harry Potter book series with short-form content that is entertaining and thematically curated by the Pottermore editorial team," Susan L. Jurevics, Pottermore CEO, said in a release. "The eBooks will delight readers as they take them beyond the Harry Potter stories and deeper into the wizarding world. J.K. Rowling's writing in these collections reveals intricate details of her characters' lives, their histories, as well as her inspiration."
The first titles in the Pottermore Presents collection focus on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Short Stories from Hogwarts: Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists: New and already published writing on Horace Slughorn, Dolores Umbridge and Quirinus Quirrell with stories themed with temptation, power, mischief and villainy. This title is a look into the darker side of magic.
Short Stories from Hogwarts: Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies: On the light side, there are profiles of Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin, two heroic and iconic characters from the books. Don't miss the never-before-published writing by Rowling in this book on Professor McGonagall's role in the second wizarding war.
Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide: This one will get you better acquainted with the incomplete, unreliable and fabulously magical school of witchcraft and wizardry, Hogwarts.
Each ebook will be $2.99 and can be preordered through Barnes and Noble, Amazon, iBooks and the Pottermore store.
