Save Her, Simon Cowell: Tampa Bay's Rachel Potter X'd off X Factor
So maybe dunderheaded decisions like this one are why The X Factor is hemorrhaging ratings? Pride of Seminole Rachel Potter, who dazzled local audiences this summer with her role in Freefall's Spring Awakening, was jettisoned from Simon Cowell's wayward singing competition Thursday, a controversial move many people (or at least the dozens who still watch) are calling completely moronic. In the first double-elimination show of the year, Potter, who performed Shania Twain's From This Moment On, and girl group Sweet Suspense were given the heave-ho by viewers, making far-less-buoyant talents Tim Olstad, Carlito Olivero and Ellona Santiago safe to caterwaul another day. Consider Tampa Bay outraged!! Come back to us, Rachel. We appreciate you.
