Spike Jonze's insane perfume commercial is the best thing on the internet this week (w/video)
When's the last time people got this excited over a commercial that wasn't aired during the Super Bowl? The crazy, new advertisement for high-end fashion house Kenzo's latest perfume, Kenzo World, features a woman perhaps so enraptured by the scent that she just has to dance ... and also destroy a luxury hotel lobby ... with lazer beams that shoot out of her fingers. It's called My Mutant Brain. Just watch the video.
Now you probably have questions, so here are some answers.
Who is that woman in the Kenzo World commercial?
That's Margaret Qualley, she's on HBO's The Leftovers and was also in The Nice Guys. Next year she'll star in Death Note, the highly-anticipated live-action film based on the manga and anime series of the same name. Fun fact: her mom is actress Andie MacDowell.
Who made this crazy commercial?
Spike Jonze, the guy who directed Her (among many other acclaimed films) and won an Oscar for writing the original screenplay for that film, directed the commercial. Ryan Heffington, who choreographed Sia's Chandelier video, choreographed Qualley's moves in the commercial.
What is the name of that song?
That is Sam Spiegel & Ape Drums feat. Assassin on the track Mutant Brain.
