Did Bryan Cranston's take on a drug dealing ex-high school science teacher-turned meth dealer crush Vera Farmiga's portrayal of legendary psycho Norman Bates' damaged mother? Was Netflix's House of Cards the most impactful TV show of the season or AMC's The Walking Dead?

And what the heck is Orphan Black, anyway?

These questions and more may come to mind as you peruse the list of nominees for the TV Critics Association's TCA Awards; the annual honors bestowed by the 200 or so writers who claim membership in the organization, including yours truly.

Regular readers of this space know I already asked you guys to help me choose the initial nominees, and I'm convinced that my own votes for The Americans, Amy Poehler, Big Bang Theory and Barbara walters -- inspired by feedback from some of you -- made the difference (reality TV was the only category where my votes, for A&E's Hoarders and HBO's Hard Knocks, landed without effect).

FX is crowing about receiving the most nominations for the first time, mostly thanks to all the love we have for The Americans. House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Saturday Night Live, Barbara Walters and Jay Leno even got key nominations. In fact, this might be the first time in a while that Leno's rival David Letterman, who won the TCA's Career Achievement Awards last year, hasn't been nominated in the same space as the Tonight Show host.

I've got until July 17 to deliver my final choices; I can only pick one selection per category. And I want your feedback.

So look at the list below and tell me who goes home happy and who stays home crying when we hand out the honors in July (only the winners tend to come to our shindig, scheduled for Aug. 3 at the Beverly hilton hotel in Los Angeles).
