'Thor' will collide with TV's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.'
Chris Hemsworth’s arms should get their own billing when they grace movie theater screens everywhere this weekend in Thor: The Dark World. And because the TV show that is Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. occupies the same timeline as the events of the Marvel films, the series deal with the fallout of the film’s events.
While anyone would have predicted a crossover of the two Marvel properties, it’s an unusual twist that the Nov. 19 episode “The Well” picks up where the movie leaves off. The official synopsis: “In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces – one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.”
This could be a brilliant way to juice the opening weekend box office. I've seen movies sooner than I originally planned just to avoid having them spoiled, but this has to be the first time that it is the filmmakers themselves threatening to spoil it. Since I'm not a teenagedboy who goes to movies as soon as they come out, I'd be more likely to avoid the show for fear of spoilers.
