TV anchor confuses Samuel L. Jackson and Laurence Fishburne, for some bizarre reason (VIDEO)
So, you might have heard that a news anchor very publicly confused Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburne, and unfortunately for him, there's video to prove it.
Honestly, we find the whole thing a little hard to watch. It doesn't help that the guy STARTS the interview with a question to Jackson about Fishburne's Super Bowl ad, so the whole thing is downhill from there.
We just have so many questions. Did the guy think he was interviewing Fishburne, or did he think Jackson was the one in that Super Bowl commercial? In either case, why didn't anyone in his life correct him? Did no one at the TV station know he was going to ask this guest about a Super Bowl commercial? Surely one of them could have been like, "Uh, hey, Sam Jackson wasn't in any commercials recently." Also, why is confusing the two actors even a thing? They don't look alike. And, no offense to Fishburne, but is he even really on the same level of fame as Samuel L. Jackson? (The answer is no.) Does this guy also think Jackson is on NBC's Hannibal? That it was Sam asking Keanu Reeves to choose a pill in The Matrix? Surely he doesn't think Fishburne was the one hanging out with John Travolta in Pulp Fiction?
Next thing you know, this anchor will be asking Miley Cyrus what it was like to get arrested in Miami.
