Valerie Harper eliminated on 'Dancing With the Stars'
Well, this is a surprise: Valerie Harper was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars Monday night. The 74-year-old TV veteran who's battling brain cancer is the third person to leave the show this season after Keyshawn Johnson and Bill Nye last week.
We thought for sure she would tap the emotional vote for much, much longer.
Harper and Nicole "Snooki” Polizzi landed in the bottom two based on their dances from last week, and Harper was sent home for having the lowest combined total of judges' scores and viewer votes. Now that DWTS is on just one night a week, the eliminations come at the end of the show after the entire cast performs new routines.
Harper danced a Viennese waltz Monday with partner Tristan MacManus, for which she earned 18 points out of 30. The judges remarked that she seemed to lose her place in the dance quite a few times. The same was true of her previous dances.
Bless her heart, but Harper just wasn't very good at remembering and executing choreography.
Of course, that she was on such a physically demanding show at all is inspiring.
Who will the emotional vote go to now?
