Winner and loser of the week in pop culture featuring U2, the Eagles of Death Metal and the holiest child in all the land
U2. The band invited the Eagles of Death Metal onstage for their first appearance since a terrorist attack claimed 89 lives at their Nov. 13 concert in Paris. “These are our brothers. Our fellow troubadours,” Bono said Monday. “They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago, and we would like to offer them ours tonight.” The union closed a two-night set in Paris with the bands covering Patti Smith’s People Have the Power before the Eagles performed their own song, I Love You All the Time. The Eagles of Death Metal also stopped by the Bataclan concert hall on Tuesday to pay their respects to those who died in the massacre at the venue.

Kimye. That would be Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to those of you who have a fancy rock to live under. The couple have named their firstborn son Saint. It’s a choice that’s rather befitting of the self-aggrandizing duo, don’t you think? The kid’s been breathing for approximately five seconds and already they’ve dubbed him exceptionally virtuous. No word yet from the Pope on official canonization.
