Couple get parking ticket as mom breastfeeds baby

We're not trying to milk this subject too much but ... remember the woman who was trying to drive while breastfeeding? Remember all the trouble she got into?

Now it seems you can also get in trouble for pulling over, according to this New York Times story.

This couple, doing the responsible thing, pulled over so that mom could breastfeed. Meanwhile, the dad ran into his office to heat up a bottle quickly to supplement the feeding. But in New York, if you are parked in a "No Standing" zone, then you are going to get a ticket -- no matter how good your reason might be for stopping. That baby's meal cost the parents a $115 ticket.

I'm not asking for special treatment for parents, people. But maybe the officer could have been a little more understanding. Imagine what would have happened if they had kept driving and the mom had taken the
baby out of a car seat for a feeding. That would've been downright dangerous.

New York City police aren't commenting right now. But you do have to wonder: Was the officer a bottle baby?

Sharon Kennedy Wynne has sunscreen in her blood. She may have been born in Buffalo but she got here as fast as she could, in time for kindergarten. She grew up in St. Petersburg, graduated from the University of Florida journalism school, and even got married at Sunken Gardens. After six long years of trying to have a baby, Kate Brassfield was finally able to have one. And then, two minutes later, another one. Suzannah DiMarzio has it bad for the Mouse. Although she grew up outside of Boston, she took her degree in tourism management down to Orlando just to work at Disney and the travel industry.
