Whoa, Momma!

Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Tracey Henry and Suzannah DiMarzio

Are you planning to go to a theme park this summer?

We sent a collection of our writers to the theme parks to check out what's new this summer (and yes, it IS Mom_manta a good job sometimes). Check out Anne Glover's take on SeaWorld Orlando's new Manta roller coaster. It's interesting how that ride is really three attractions in one: a huge mountain grotto, a sting ray habitat viewing area and a sky-high thrill ride.

Theme park vet Pete Couture checked out Universal Hollywood's Rip Tide Rockit. You get to star in your own music video as you pick a soundtrack and the camera captures your reaction to the ride.

Susan Thurston, I think, correctly casts a skeptical eye on Downtown Disney's new balloon ride. If thunderstorms and fast-moving puffy clouds can ground this thing, we are wondering if it will ever fly this summer.

And now that American Idol has finished another nail-biting finale with far too many 60-year-old rockers in hot pants for my taste, you can get your AI fix at the American Idol Experience at Disney.

Of course, you can always check out our guides to Disney, Busch Gardens and Aquatica. And if you go, use these tips to keep up with your kids so you can have a safe, fun time.

There you go, folks. We stood in line and got nauseous so you don't have to.
