Black Friday? Done it. Cyber Monday? WWW’d it. Free Shipping Day? Never heard of it. But apparently it’s been around for a while, and tomorrow, Friday ( Dec. 17) marks this third annual shopping event.

According to the website freeshippingday.com, more than 1,100 online retailers will take part in a free shipping day for orders placed on their websites tomorrow. Most promise to get it there by Christmas if shipped in the continental United States.

It appears both big and small stores are participating including biggies like Macy’s,  Land’s End, and the Apple Store and details are expected to be announced on their site by midnight tonight.

It might be worth a surf tomorrow if you’re looking for some last minute gifts but don’t want to brave the crowds at the mall on Last-Minute-I-Wish-I-Had-Planned-Better Thursday.
