Recently, I told you that a study showed that parents would not be doing a lot of back-to-school spending.  Frankly, without getting a good deal, we Mommas are keeping a firm hand on our wallets. Tough economic times will make you do that.

But as our friends the Deal Divas told us, there are bargains to be had out there. You've just got to know where to shop. There might even be a good clothing deal here for you. And here's another deal that just flew into my inbox: Wal-Mart is offering several back-to-school must haves for your kids for $9. The price includes everything from backpacks to socks and eyeglass frames to folders. If you want to see more of the deals go to Wal-Mart's Web site for details.

Also just got an email from Stride Rite which is having a buy one pair of shoes full price and get one half off sale. The sale is in-store only but it runs through Aug. 31. Check here for participating store locations. I like to go online to check for styles and then take the kids in to get their feet measured. And, if you don't find your size at one store they will hold it for you at another.
