Barack Obama inauguration freebies!
Our friends, the Deal Divas, are all about the freebies and saving you money. But sometimes we Mommas like to get in on the act. Here are some freebies for Barack Obama's Inauguration Day. And anytime freebies and Krispy Kreme doughnuts are in the same sentence, you know it's a good thing.
TGI Fridays wants you to stop in for a free button and drink and food specials for what the restaurant is billing as the World's Largest Inauguration Party. At 9 p.m. Tuesday, the TGIF bartenders will lead a toast to the new president. And there are plenty of other local parties to attend to watch the festivities.
Starbucks gave away coffee on election day in November. But now you'll have to give a little bit to get something. For anyone who agrees to heed Obama's call to national service and volunteer at least five hours doing something to help the country, you will get a free tall cup of coffee. Five hours doesn't seem like too much. This offer funs from Wednesday through Sunday.
If you are a fan of Obama's -- or a fan of history -- New Yorker magazine is offering a free Obama commemorative issue. You just sign up for the mag's online list and get a free issue. Deadline to apply is Jan. 31 or while supplies last. If you'll remember, it was the New Yorker that had the controversial cover illustration of Obama and his wife Michelle. I guess now they just want to make nice.
You can also get a free Obama "Yes We Did" sticker here from MoveOn.org.
Coffee and donughts, anyone?
