Breaking News: Television does not make babies smarter
After the parenting advocacy group the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood filed a complaint with the FTC, Disney’s Baby Einstein DVDs offered to refund up to four DVD purchases to those parents whose babies did not, in fact, become wacky-haired geniuses after watching them.
After the sobering newsflash that plopping a baby in front of a television does not guarantee a perfect SAT score, I wonder if this sets an unintended precedent on other product titles.
The makers of the Miracle Bra, Slim-Fast and Lucky Charms should expect to hear from my attorney in the morning.
