Candy Spelling uses gossip blog to reach 'middle-aged' Tori

Toricandy I am one of the few Mommas who will admit I love to get all judgey on other mothers' choices. But I at least have the good manners to talk behind their backs, not post an open letter to my wayward child on the Internet! Yes, Candace Spelling, wife of the late Aaron and mother of the surprisingly funny and self-aware Tori, sent the gossip site TMZ an open letter to her daughter. Make that her "middle-aged" daughter. Oh snap! She did not just cut her 36-year-old girl with one well-manicured claw while pretending to reach out with the other did she?

The letter is addressed TO: MIDDLE-AGED REALITY SHOW STARS (LIKE MY DAUGHTER)
FROM: CANDY SPELLING

Candy and Tori have been taking their family feud public with books, columns and reality shows. I actually think Candy had a point that it was tacky for Tori to use her reality show as a moment to finally introduce her daughter to Candy. But how can you win points for tact when you make this complaint public on one of the Web's hottest gossip blogs?

"I decided my first meeting with my granddaughter should be on home video, not primetime cable," the privacy advocate -- and author of the memoir Candyland -- writes, "so I emailed that I would not be attending."

She goes on to complain that, "The same old whining gets tired after a while. Enough complaining about what may or may not have happened during first grade or YMCA camp, or what vegetable you were forced to endure, especially when you are privileged enough to be on TV and get paid for it."

Wow, motherly advice for all to see.
