toystory3.jpgThe Child Abuse Council’s Holiday Store's new toy drive is in desperate need of toys.  Last year, the Holiday Store provided toys for 575 needy children.  The biggest need this year is in the infant-to-1 year age group where nearly 200 toys are needed.  No stuffed animals, books or violent toys, please. New toys only. Unwrapped please. Toys can be dropped off at the Child Abuse Council at 3108 W Azeele St., Tampa until next Tuesday, Dec. 13. Open weekends 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., other dropoffs by appointment by calling (813) 673-4646 x224.

Looking for some others ways to give back this time of year? We have rounded up a list of here of charities and non-profits look for ways to help those in need. The Toys for Tots Facebook page says they are most in need of toys for ages 6-9 and boys/girls; ages 9-12. You can drop off donations for Toys for Tots at any Publix through Dec. 16. They also have some toy drives at coming Lighting and Buccaneer games

The Christmas Toy Shop project in St. Petersburg takes new and gently used toys and refurbishes them for needy children. Their website has contact and drop-off information.
