Christmas card picture? Done!
No, that's not it, thank goodness. But the headline is correct. It got pretty cold this past weekend, so my husband and I dressed the kids up, went to church Sunday and then afterward, headed over to International Plaza for a chat with Santa and a chance to photograph them in front of the beautifully decorated Christmas trees. I'd show you the pix, but I don't want to spoil the surprise for family and friends this holiday season.
Yep, I know it's only Nov. 19, but it feels great to have that crossed off my list. And by ordering the free book from Snapfish and Oprah to get the kids' school art in one place, I got 50 free 4x6 photos. YOWZA!!
Last year, It got a little cool and the kids had on some red jackets. So I took them to a little park near the Vinoy Country Club and shot their photos against the Christmas lights. Perfect. That left me wondering: How do you Mommas do it? I love this time of year but believe me, some of the Christmas photo sessions have been less than great. In the past there had been crying, screaming for chocolate and prayer for sleep -- and that was just me.
Where are some of your favorite places to take your Christmas card photo? And do you keep going back there or do you try something new every year? I know a few Mommas who would also love to know how you get the kiddos to cooperate.
So let us know how you work the magic so that other moms can get the ball rolling -- before Dec. 24.
