Cute snack, craft ideas for Groundhog Day

groundhog.jpgWill Phil see his shadow on Thursday? We'll find out on Groundhog Day (which is Thursday) and if you want to have some fun with the kids, check out this really cute snack idea from the Playtime With Mommy blog. Using pudding snack cups (or use your own small clear bowls) and add  pudding, crushed oreos and graham crackers with an emerging Teddy Graham popping out of the "dirt." I just love clever moms like that!

For an easy craft, check out this cute pop-up groundhog from All Kids Network. It's basically a peek-a-boo toy that you can make seasonal.

If you are like me and love the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day about this quirky holiday, the historic Tampa Theatre is showing the movie as part of its Science on Screen series. They will show the movie at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a short talk by a scientist about the great mystery of defining what time actually is throughout the agews. If you don't feel like delving that deep after a comedy, grab some beach chairs and head to Clearwater Beach Friday night where Sunset Cinemas at Pier 60 will be showing the movie for free at dusk.
