Disney volunteer oppportunity available this Saturday in Oldsmar

January

Just last week we told you that some of the volunteer opportunities for the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day volunteer program were going fast. Volunteers in programs designated by Disney get a free pass to one of the theme parks. Well, we have learned of a volunteer opportunity coming up on Saturday and organizers are worried that they do not have enough people to help.

The National Black Nurses Tampa Bay Chapter Inc. is searching for volunteers to bring 20 non-perishable items of food (no glass, please) and any gently used clothing to donate to a program for a low-income neighborhood. Volunteers will sort, package and distribute food and clothing from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday  at the Westminster Apartments, 200 Westminster Blvd., in Oldsmar. Volunteers must be ages 14 and up according to one of the organizers, Gayle Robinson (no relation to the writer of this post). Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and anyone age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

But before you volunteer, you must register first. If you go to the Disney Web site and then type in the zip code 34677, the event should pop up. And if this one doesn't float your boat, there are others to select.

For more information on Saturday's volunteer effort, call (813) 888-7002 or (813)546-0277. If you're into volunteering and want to help those who are less fortunate, this might be a great way to make a difference. And you get a ticket to Disney just for doing something you probably would do anyway.
