Do you let your kid play with your iPhone?
I finally succumbed and traded in my Blackberry for iPhone and as you can expect have been having a blast downloading ridiculous apps. Someone actually spent a lot of time designing an elegant app of a coin that when I shake my phone or swipe with my finger sails in the air and lands with a clink on heads or tails. An app to flip a coin. Really?
It's no surprise my kids want to play with it too and I've let them play with it some, but I was poised like a baseball catcher when my 7 year old was fumbling with the Etch a Sketch app. So I was really surprised to read this story in the New York Times Style section on the toddler's latest toy craze: mom's iPhone.
Apple's genius is they make machines so simple that technophobes like me can use them. So it makes sense that toddlers would already be lapping me. But am I the only one who thinks it could be a very expensive lesson for mom if that thing goes bouncing across the kitchen floor?
