Whoa, Momma!

Do you need a sitter for shopping?

The frenzy of Black Friday shopping with long lines and crowds is just about impossible to navigate with kids in tow. And it's tough to buy presents for them if you have to bring them along. Sittercity, a website that connects parents with local babysitters, offered up these Black Friday stats:

  • The website's parents started posting “Black Friday jobs” on Oct. 5 (There's some forward-thinking people!)
  • The day most parents post a Black Friday job is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
  • The average hourly rate for a Black Friday gig runs from $11 to $16.25.

So what's your shopping strategy? My husband I love to shop for toys together so we usually trade with other parents we know or family. I watch their kids and they watch mine. Online shopping is also an option. Or ditching the family and doing it yourself?
