"Drop back... look out behind you ... now take it around and SHOOT!"
Technically: Two and a team mom. But....
We don't have grandstands or fences, just painted white lines to stand behind. I was annoyed at the two yahoos who stood as close as possible and shouted explicit instructions to their sons, then jumped up and down hugging madly when they scored. The man who complained was our goalkeeper's dad; I feel his pain. But how do we enforce a no-parent-coaching rule without banning parents altogether? It's not like we can run up and penalize them.
Where is the line between coaching and cheering? What happens when they coach/cheer in Albanian, Farsi, Italian and Portuguese in addition to English and Spanish? We just throw up our hands and hope they're not saying anything dirty.
But I'm open to ideas. What does your league do?
