Find ghosts on Haunted Hike
With Halloween just two weeks away, there are lots of fun, scary and silly events out there to enjoy with your kids. You may not want to scare the pants off of them but a little ghostly fun might be okay. Take a look at a couple that are on tap for this weekend that might scare you -- just a little:
Take the Haunted Hike through the Euclid/St. Paul's neighborhood in St. Petersburg on Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m. The family-friendly hike will leave the intersection of 13th Avenue N and 13th Street every 15 minutes until 8:30 p.m. The one-mile walking tour takes about one hour to complete. Guides will lead visitors down Euclid/St. Paul's creepy alleys and brick-paved streets to old homes and landmarks where costumed characters will tell spooky stories. Tickets, which are $5 for adults, $1 for kids 12 and under and free for age 2 and younger, can be purchased at www.espna.org or at the start of the tour. There also will be a Ghouly Goodies Bake Sale at the tour start.
And if you're into midway rides and fall fun, there are several on festivals this weekend. Check out the 37th annual Family Fall Festival at Our Lady of Lourdes School, 750 San Salvador Drive, Dunedin. The Sacred Heart Fall Festival will aslo feature carnival rides, a midway and all the cotton candy and funnel cake you could eat. If only it would get a little cooler.
And as always, there are lots of other events to catch your fancy. Go out and have some fun with the family.
