Free memberships at Lifestyle Family Fitness for teens this summer!
We all know that obesity among adolescents and teens is skyrocketing. In fact, just last week I wrote a post about a study that found about 20 percent of 4 year olds in this country are considered obese.
For three years, Lifestyle Family Fitness has offered teens free memberships during the summer months. And they are doing it again this year May 15 through Aug. 15. Kids ages 12-17 can join at any of the 55 Lifestyle locations through the country. There are more than 30 sites in Florida.
“I always dreamed of doing this for teens who may be in the same position I once faced,” says Lifestyle's founder Geoff Dyer, who, at age 17, tipped the scales at 248 pounds. “We hope that by inviting the teens to work out for free, we can help them begin a life-long path which includes fitness and healthy living.”
Parents can register teens for the free summer program beginning April 15. Teens are allowed to visit any Lifestyle Family Fitness unaccompanied after the registration process is complete. However, they must end their visits by 5 p.m. weekdays.
What a good deal, especially for families that might want to get into the healthy habit together.
