Free summer memberships for teens at Lifestyle Family Fitness
We've heard all the dire news about childhood obesity. First Lady Michelle Obama has started an initiative
to try to tackle the problem. And Jamie Oliver is trying to start a Food Revolution to try to get everyone to eat better.
Each summer, Lifestyle Family Fitness tries to do its part to help kids stay fit during months they are out of school when snacking might increase. Kids ages 12-17 will be able to get a free LFF membership. The program runs May 15-Aug. 15 and last year, more than 6,000 bay area teens were enrolled. Teen memberships provide all-day access to the health clubs on weekends and access until 4 p.m. on weekdays. Teens are allowed to visit any center unaccompanied after the registration process is complete. Parents can register teens and get more information a the LFF website.
