Give a little, get something back on Community Friendly Friday at the Forum
Each Friday throughout the summer at the St. Pete Times Forum, the community is being asked to make donations to help deserving groups through the program Community Friendly Friday. The program was created to help gather donations for local non-profit organizations. This Friday, organizers are collecting donations for the Children's Cancer Center which is holding is annual pediatric oncology camp in June and is needs supplies. The staff is arranging for the children to go trick or treating and celebrate a different holiday each day during the camp, since so many of the kids miss the opportunity while they are in the hospital.
The following items are among the most needed: all sizes of dress up (Halloween) costumes, empty plastic Easter eggs, bags of individually wrapped candy, baby wipes, swim goggles/pool toys and Play-Doh or anything else you think kids would enjoy during a summer week when every day will be a holiday.
By making a donation you get lots in return: a voucher for four tickets to a Tampa Bay Storm home game and discount ticket offers on upcoming events, including Disney On Ice, Carol King & James Taylor and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
You can drop off donations at the St. Pete Times Forum Box Office from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday. Sounds like a good time to find those too-little costumes and the myriad Easter eggs gathered this year and donate them to a worthy cause.
