Whoa, Momma!

Grace is the word

Grace In our house, that is. No meal can begin without our 3 year old stopping to say, "Wait! We forgot to say gwrace!'

What's funny, besides her insistence, is we didn't teach this to her. And I have no idea where she picked it up. I mean, we go to church most Sundays, but pre-meal prayers are not involved. And before she got on this kick, neither my husband nor I took the initiative.

Anyway, she wants to say "gwrace" no matter where we are. So yes, we've paused at the airport, at Moe's, and even at my friend's mom's house, seated at the table with her agnostic husband. Here's how it goes, a little different than I remember:

God is great,
God is good,
Let us thank him for our food.
By his hands
we all are fed,
give us Lord our daily bread.

I have to say, I'm thankful for her devotion.
