Whoa, Momma!

Have a do-gooder kid? Nominate them

huggable.jpgBig heroes sometimes come in small packages and the folks at Build-A-Bear Workshop hope to reward some of those young people who already are giving back to their communities in big ways.

In the eighth annual Huggable Heroes program, 10 young heroes will receive $7,500 scholarships and $2,500 in donations to their dedicated cause. Applications for nominations can be found in stores or online here. Those nominations can come from adults, friends or the candidate himself if between the ages of 8-18.

Past winners have included kids who have started literacy programs, toy drives for children in Haiti and educational donations to girls in Afghanistan.

Nominations will be accepted through February 28, 2011 and finalists will be chosen in April, so don’t wait to recognize your young hero.
