Here's a birthday idea: Foam party
I've heard of foam parties at nightclubs, but never for a child's birthday. So let me tell you, it is the most fun I've ever witnessed.
My daughter's friend hired a St. Petersburg company called Family Bounce to set up a foam party in her backyard. They offer an inflatable foam dance pit, but it didn't fit. So these good people went to Home Depot to improvise with stakes and plastic sheeting. Once the hurricane foam machine went on, the craziness began.
As you can see, oodles of bubbles buried the 20 or so kids, who spent close to three hours dancing and screaming their heads off. Kids alternated between the bubble pit and a hot tub in the backyard, sometimes using a hose to clean off before another dip in the pit.
The mom who hosted said of the company: "They were great and really went the extra mile."
It's not the cheapest party you could throw, but it will be one of the most memorable.
