How many seats should you be allowed to save?
We are in the crush of holiday concerts, plays, recitals and chock full of Nutcrackers, and we all know "that mom" who saves the whole third row for her late-arriving family, in-laws, stepcousins and neighbors who are on their way. So what do we think of this? All's fair in love, war and dance recitals?
I tend to think up to 3 is the most you should save. But unless the people are right behind you, literally in the parking lot on their way, you shouldn't save their seats. It isn't fair to those who make an effort to show up on time.
A friend of mine tells me her kid's school only allows one, for the person parking the car. And they do most certainly patrol and yell at people trying to save more. But space is at a premium at her school, with a standing-room-only crowd at every event so that's what prompted the rule.
