Kids flip at the oddest things

Is there one thing that totally freaks your child out? Nothing genuinely scary Mom_comfortchild like spiders or snakes, but something seemingly innocuous? My friend’s daughter used to flip when she got crumbs on her fingers. Can you imagine the frequency of those tantrums?

For my 3-year-old, it’s water. Yes, you read that right -- water.

Be it a splash or a tiny drop, on her arm or her clothes, one titch of moisture can send this sweet girl into full-throttle hysterics. She screams, she sobs, she throws herself to the ground. She needs help!! Right away!!

Drying her off is never enough. If any part of her clothing gets wet, she needs a full wardrobe change. Hello, that means more laundry! Of course, I try to talk her through her terror, but sooner or later I help her get new clothes. I mean, wouldn’t you?
