My 8-year-old participated in the Scholastic News Election Poll at her school recently and so this morning, as we watched Barack Obama's election night speech, I asked her how it went.

"MOM!" she said. "I was the ONLY one in my class who voted for Barack Obama!"

I barely registered my surprise before she continued.

"And I WOULDN'T have voted for him if Dad had told me sooner that Obama wants to raise taxes on people who make more than $250,000!!" she exclaimed.

Didn't expect that answer. Especially considering we don't fall into that group of people.
