Whoa, Momma!

Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Tracey Henry and Suzannah DiMarzio

Look kids, math and science are fun

Mom_robotHave you got a kid who takes his toys apart or plays mad scientist in the kitchen? Students in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to learn more about engineering at the Engineering Expo this weekend at USF in Tampa. There will be a chemical magic show, laser light show, robot demonstrations, a race between student built electric powered cars, hands-on activities and much more.

The idea here is to stress the important role math, science, engineering and technology play in our every day lives. Hey, maybe that would have given me the inspiration to stick with the math that so bored me in high school, because this journalism game is getting pretty dicey these days.

It runs from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the University of South Florida Engineering Complex, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. And the cool part is it's free. Call (813) 974-0773.
