Miley Cyrus, webcams and crushes

We all remember what it was like to have a crush on a boy, have him become Mom_mileycyrus our boyfriend -- perhaps just for a week -- and then it just all blew over and you went on to the next crush.

That was before the Internet and webcams took crushing to a new level. Now we see Miley Cyrus, who already has a chink in her Hannah Montana armor,  sending a video calling card to try to upstage the rumored new girlfriend (Selena Gomez) of Miley's ex (Nick Jonas).

We wouldn't take much notice except it's kids being a little dumb on the Internet for the world to see. And one of the kids is someone that a lot of 'tween girls look up to.

Look on this YouTube Celebrity Smackdown as a cautionary tales. You know how, before a sleepover or a play date, you always ask if there is a gun in the house and if so is it locked up tight? Now we have to ask if there is a webcam. We have to make sure that kids understand that anything they do on that is going to shoot out on the World Wide Web and it will be out there forever. Read this frightening story about a hacker who used a family's webcam to spy on them.

Hannah M. can still call our house to wake up our kids at the beginning of the school year. But Miley's parents might want to take her aside and tell her to get back to concentrating on what really matters.
