Moms to be: A belly cast for Mother's Day?
Sure, you could always get flowers or candy or a nice brunch for Mother's Day, but what if you are a mom-to-be? How about a plaster memory of your huge belly?
Next Saturday (May 12) Thank You Mama in St Petersburg is hosting its first annual “Mother’s Day Belly Casting Workshop” put on by Belly Bliss, "For less than the cost of many at-home belly casting kits, expectant mothers will have all materials provided for them and the unique opportunity to receive professional guidance as they work with a partner to transform their growing baby bump into a unique maternity keepsake," their news release says.
If you want to embrace that growing waistline, they say the best time to create a belly cast is between 32-38 weeks of pregnancy. "However, expectant mothers at any stage of pregnancy will benefit from learning the techniques for later use and many mothers even choose to create multiple casts at different stage s of their pregnancy." The workshop is also open to mothers who have unfinished casts from a previous pregnancy. They may bring their casts in to learn how to have them shaped, reinforced and smoothed.
The Mother’s Day Belly Casting Workshop is from 3-5p.m. on Saturday, May 12th at Thank You Mama baby boutique, 1511 Fourth St. N in St. Petersburg. The workshop costs $40 with all materials provided or $20 if participants wish to bring their own materials. Each participant will also receive a special Mother’s Day gift bag filled with goodies and discounts from area businesses. To register contact Heather Spooner at (813)789-9097 or email@example.com.
Do any of you veteran moms wish you had "saved" your belly as a keepsake?
