More free and cheap events!
In our efforts to get the word out fast about great events coming up this weekend, we left a couple off that we think would be great fun.
The final Free First Friday at Kid City, the Children's Museum of Tampa, is today from 1-8 p.m. at 7550 North Blvd. There will be a special Kid City Closing Ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. Kid City is closing as construction begins on the new Glazer Children's Museum. Bring your family for a celebration of the impact of Kid City and Safety Village have had in the community for 20 years and to get a peek at what the new museum will be like. Admission is free and there will be lots of special activities.
Of course in St. Petersburg, there is the Santa Parade and Snowfest on Saturday. In Ybor City, there is the Santa Fest and Holiday Parade which begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at Centennial Park and the Ybor City State Museum. The festival is for the whole family and includes, of course, visits with Santa, a Tampa Bay Rays batting cage, two stages of entertainment, a giant snow slide and holiday crafts. You can get free popsicles and ride the historic street car to the festival for just 25-cents. And you can get free admission to the Ybor City State Museum. The parade steps off at 4 p.m. at Seventh Avenue and Nuccio Parkway. This event is free and should be lots of fun.
Have a great weekend!
