New ways to carry on a holiday tradition from Hallmark

This isn’t your mother’s Christmas card -- but I’ll bet she’d be thrilled to get one from you this year. Stepping out of the box of holiday cards, Hallmark has a few updated versions of this annual tradition that are sure to make you smile this season.

Check out the new Hallmark DVD Greetings -- it’s an interactive new approach to the holiday newsletter. “Each hosts a template that can be edited and customized with personal photos, burned to the included DVD, and sent with the coordinating greeting card (also included).”

Looking for a holiday picture play list for that digital frame you received last year under the tree? You can create a digital scrapbook that will play in a frame, computer, or anything else that uses a USB drive. You can theme it around the holidays or not.

Did you know you could sing a Christmas carol from thousands of miles away? You can with a Hallmark recordable card. Record your own personal holiday message in one of these clever cards.

But no matter which way you choose to send your greetings, Hallmark wants to help two Whoa, Momma! readers get started with $25 gift certificates to shop online or in stores. Simply email your name, address and phone number in the email and put Hallmark in the subject line to GoMomma@TampaBay.com (don't worry, we won't post that personal info on the site -- we just need it for verification) to be entered into a random drawing. Entries must be received by midnight on Dec. 10 to be eligible. If you’ve won a Whoa, Momma! prize in the last three months you’ll have to wait a little longer to enter.

Sending cards at the holidays is a great tradition whether you choose all of the new jingle bells and whistles or stick with the traditional route.
