New Wii controller worth the price of Motion game
A product landed in my mailbox to test this week. Since it's Wii Play: Motion, that means this review and advice comes from my kids and neighbors, not from me. The newest Wii remote software bundle from Nintendo is a collection of mini-games bundled with a nifty black Wii remote (or Wiimote as the company is trying to get us all to call it) with Wii MotionPlus built in. The game, at $49.99 is only $10 more than the cost of a standalone Wii remote so the bundle is a deal.
You get 12 mini-games which the kids say are pretty fun, but more fun if you play as a group. Luckily we already have a couple Wii remotes with Wii MotionPlus. If we hadn't we'd be left with a dilemma: Shell out more money for the extra controllers, or just let the kids play the games one at a time, which they say isn't nearly as much fun.
I see from web surfing among the game sites that FlingSmash, an Angry-Birds-type block destruction game, is bundled with the same black Wii Remote, and there are deals on Amazon, Target and GameStop (depending on when you look) on this package for as little as $30.
The kids say the remote is the best part of the bargain, with its superior motion tracking abilities, so be warned that the deal may cost you if you end up wanting to buy more of these Wiimotes.
