OMG! Disney to let you in free on your birthday -- in 2009

Okay, okay, I admit it. I love Disney World and so do my kids. We go whenever Mom_disneytoystory we can (including recently for my son's birthday). So the announcement earlier this week that Disney will let you in for free on your birthday in 2009 is like getting a really cool birthday gift from your favorite aunt or uncle.

Since a full-price adult (10 and up) ticket costs $75, that's a pretty good savings. You can register in advance online at or you can show up at the gate with a photo ID; you'll need something with your kid's birthdate if that is who is celebrating.

According to this story, the birthday promotion is only good at U.S. parks. Visitors with multi-day passes or who already have bought tickets for trips on their birthdays can either get a one-day, one-park ticket to use within the next year; a Fastpass for four rides for up to six people; or a gift card with a dollar amount equal to the free ticket to use toward souvenirs and other purchases.

Of course, it's all a plan to get you in the park to buy food and souvenirs. But when was the last time you got anything worth $75 for free?
